Frequently asked questions
Q: Why do we Double Shampoo?
A: We double shampoo quite simply for better end results - a cleaner, healthier coat, the two shampoos are:
- Unscented hypoallergenic shampoo designed to break down surface dirt, remove oil & debris from them beach days, and Stanley Park walks. This first shampoo also loosens dead hair.
- After the dirt and oil are gone, the second wash: cleans the fur and skin properly – it allows the shampoo to lather better & gives the groomer the opportunity to use a special function shampoo e.g. moisturizing, whitening, deodorizing
Q: Why do we Charge a Curly Coat Fee?
A: Curly coats take more time, require more skill, and cause more wear on equipment than straight-coated dogs. Prep work requires far more brushing, precision cuts take longer with more attention to detail, and blades naturally dull faster on these coats.
Q: What is Expected of Me/Pet Parent Pre-Groom?
A: Following are very important pre-groom activities

A: Shaving of the immediate area surrounding the anus, the genitals, groin, inner thighs, the pits of all four legs, and part of the belly bordering the groin
Q: What Does the Puppy’s 1 Groom Entail and is there an Age Limit?
A: The age limit is 9-12 months; some discretion should be applied by staff. A 1 groom is a stress-free introduction to all aspects of grooming. Getting acquainted with the groomer, the grooming room and furniture, the grooming tools, the noise associated with nail clippers, shears, trimmers. At the first sign of stress, the groomer will halt, give positive reinforcement & move to the next task. At the end they will revisit anything that the Puppy showed discomfort at. Due to this, some aspects of the groom may be left incomplete, however it is key to remember that a first groom is primarily about creating trust, comfort, and familiarity for a younger dog.
Q: What are lamb legs?
